Though I grew up in California, I spent more than half my career with the federal government on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Mississippi was one of the last four states to prohibit shipping wine directly to consumers. That finally changed on July 1, 2025 when the state legalized DTC wine shipping. Even so, the new law still contains significant barriers to getting great wines to Mississippi wine lovers (high taxes, stiff penalties, etc.), so we're not sure how many wineries will actually participate.
Jenner Family Estates is in the process of getting a Mississippi direct wine shipping permit. It is a long process, but we are moving through it well and getting a lot of help from the state agencies. Our goal is to ship our first case by the end of this year.
